Scott Red Tartan Shirt
L.L. Bean is offering a $30 routine flannel shirt, but in the Scott Red tartan. Pretty routine shirt, but its the first time I've seen the Scott tartan in a shirt. Nice to wear with a solid colored kilt or even (gasp) them other lower garments lowlanders wear.
www.llbean.com and search for Tartan or Scott.
I bought one just for the clan heritage aspect of having one. Its nice and washed up well.
Also a nice gimmick to get family members interested in clan heritage. I emailed my sibs and cousins about it and already one niece is ordering one.

Looks good. Thanks Ron. I'm sure the wife will be ordering one. She'll tailor it a bit if they don't have ladies.

Thanks, Ron. I will be putting it on my Christmas list and telling my cousins as well.

Shirt looks good but the shop describes it's pyjamas as being "Scotch"
I wonder if they're alcoholic?
Also - these pyjamas claim to have the Campbell Tartan as a style... it looks nothing like any of the Campbell tartans I've seen.
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

It looks like Dress Campbell which the chief does not reconize, Ancient Campbell is the only tartan reconized as official.

Well, if I remember correctly, LL Bean plays fast and loose with tartans. Believe there was a controversy over the State of Maine tartan - they finally relabled it the LL Bean tartan. The "Scotch" error has appeared in their catalogs for years and they seem well aware its there and reluctant to correct it.
I was just posting about the Scott Red tartan for my Scott cousins. Pretty much ignored the other tartans since had no interest.

Ron, that is incorrect. LL Bean did not label the Maine tartan as their proprietary tartan, but rather reproduced the Maine tartan as a shirt and were sued by the current holders of the copyright. Matt Newsome wrote two excellent articles explaining the particulars here:
http://www.albanach.org/restricted.htm
http://blog.albanach.org/2007/03/no-...te-tartan.html
It is my understanding that the designers actually demanded that the image of the tartan be covered up or removed from Smith and Teall's book on district tartans. In this case, I'm on the Bean's side.
The Bean tartan looks nothing like the Maine tartan. In fact, someone posted an image of a pair of Bean Wellies in the Bean tartan here.
