			ID on a jacket please

I'm looking to buy this jacket from someone as I think it looks great! It looks similar to an Argyll at the sleeves but there's 3 buttons at the centre and the pockets are further down with a different shapre to the base of the jacket.

Looks like it but it's a bit less "Prince Charlie with a bit added on" as it "flows through" with no cut in under the buttons. The "flaps" on the doublet seem to be set back from the actual jacket and this jacket doesnt have that

It seems similar to a Kenmore also - but one again the flaps dont really seem seperate on this jacket.

I see what you mean about the cutaway, but it has the basic elements of a regulation doublet, maybe it was converted from a tuxedo coat?
 Here's a similar jacket on ebay; http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-REGULATI...d=p4634.c0.m14

It seems a very similar jacket to the ebay link you posted. Probably just a slightly different layout.

I thought that too but I could get some matching gold buttons put on a 5-button waistcoat and wear a ruche or cravat with it, right?

A ruche or cravat?? and you're the bloke that doesn't want to wear tweed? Blimey - that was a nice jacket you just got rid of by the way!
Ruche ties are for weddings only and cravats are for Edwardian pipe smokers. Bow ties are for any formal. You're limiting your options mate.

 Then again, waddooeyeno.
