From what you have written I see the man you are. I think your Da knows he leaves behind a family that is strong, loving and filled with hope. What better farewell could a man want for his journey westward.
Jamie directed me to this thread. I'm sorry I missed it yesterday. My father just spent a week with us (on and off) and I have a hard time imagining him dying anytime soon. My thoughts are with you, and I am glad you have good memories of a life well lived, and well ended.
Phil, sorry to hear about your father. Our extended family has always come together to celebrate the lives of those that have passed and hold close those that are still here. May the Pease be with you all.
When my granddad died he was in the VA hospital in Houston. I was in England, USAF and my Dad said that they treated him great. He died of Colon Cancer at 67. You got to spend all that time with him. Hope most of that time was good times.
We all must spend quality time with friends and family.
