    Panache's 2009 Adjudication Team Dance

I was part of my Scottish Country Dance class' adjudication team for the 2009 Pleasanton Games.

We danced a medley of Marian's Jig , MacDonald of the Isles, and The Royal Deeside Railway

walkerk was kind enough to video our presentation and I thought I would put it here in our Celtic Dancers forum

    Enjoy

    Cheers

I just watched it again, the entire performance is wonderful, but my favourite part was the strathspey in the middle and he transitions between the dances. I was wondering why there are only 6 and not 8 of you?

When our teachers asked who would be interested in being part of the team there were only six of us who were!

It was a really wonderful experience preparing for Pleasanton. As the least experienced dancer in the team I learned the most from the experience.

According to the judges, while we could improve a little on our footwork, everything else was great. The felt we had great eye contact and were presented SCD as social and fun. They especially liked our grand chain and felt that this figure is sometimes done in a perfunctory manner and not danced to its fullest like we did.

Watching the video over makes me feel very proud and happy.

    Cheers

Well that would explain it, as an aspiring SCDer videos like this are great to watch. I've always had problems getting my strathspey timing correct, so it is great to see.
