Great video. of a awesome event. It is tough for me to watch though because I lost a Fire Fighter friend who was on his way to this event.

He was Killed in a Motorcycle accident on the Oregon/Idaho border while enroute to the event.

His name was Cpt. Eric Shink of the Kennewick Fire Dept. Station 1 in Kennewick, Wa.

The funeral was last week and all was well until they started playing the pipes.....then there wasnt a dry eye in the house.

Please rember all those who were a Uniform and serve us on a daily basis.

I met some of his riding companions at the event....a sad day to be sure.
he was riding a BMW was he not?
we had a moment of silence the first day for him and I raised a glass for him that night.

Beas: actually I think about 6 or so were Cancer deaths that were finally given their due.

    take care

    Thumbs up 10th Year

Hey all. This is my first post cause I felt compelled to comment on the awesome ceremony again this year. I had the honor of reading the names of the fallen this year. Somewhere around 220 members were in the band along with almost 600 honor guard from U.S. and Canada. Then Saturday night on Tejon Street and pints at Jack Quinn's. Brotherhood at it's best. If you've never been, it's worth the time.

BTW, Kudos to Donnie at Wyvern Leather Works for my custom Celtic Maltese Sporran. Check it out on his web page.

Very moving tribute. The pipes bring me to tears every time, and the thought of fallen brother firefighters does the same.
