I often get compliments on my hair sporran when I wear it, generally for more formal occasions.


I was lucky enough to find this one many years ago at a vendor selling military antiques and collectibles at the Williamsburg VA Scottish Festival. I won't tell you what I paid for it, but it was a steal!
One thing I like about this one is that it actually has quite a large, functional pocket, unlike a lot of hair sporrans one finds today.
I wouldn't mind having an antique style goat hair sporran one day, though. I think for civilian formal wear, hair sporrans can add a really nice touch, but personally I favor styles that don't look like military replicas or generic band sporrans.
