Me too. When I was a 43", the 44" was too big. I sold it and went with a 42". MUCH better!!

Well I just received my Black Stewart Heavyweight I went with the 48" just to be safe. I'm glad I did it fits wonderfully. not on the last notch so it seems a bit more snug then my other 48. I have to say I love the wool for the kilt I may have a hard time with ordering another non-wool kilt again. Kilt arrived with the belt, belt buckle, and sporran hangers I ordered as well as some flashes.

I'll try and get some pics tomorrow. Gonna wear my best and try make it to church for evening service after work.

I know there are nicer kilts out there but I say SWK is providing a needed service, quality product and great price. I have never come across another company where I can get quality, service, and price together. Now if they just offered a few more of the Stewart tartans I would have it made, I will say they have a customer for life!

I have a 50" kilt waist. I have a 48" SWK standard and it fits well at the full extension of the straps at their last hole. So I guess what I am saying is that I can lose weight, but better not gain anymore. Hope that helps.

I just got my SWK Leatherneck Standard. I ordered 52" waist. My waist currently measures just over 53". The kilt fits fine at the last hole.

BTW, Jerry's time warp is still working. I ordered Monday morning ( a mail holiday in the USA!) and it was on my doorstep today (Wednesday).

Bravo Tiny! Welcome to the 'club'. For a non made-to-measure, affordable and durable kilt that looks good dressed up or down--you can't go wrong with Jerry's kilts and his service is top notch. I own several SWKs and just recently bought the same tartan as you did--great looking kilt! Keep at Jerry about the other Stewart tartan, you never know what he might pull off.

Aye Geoff, that SWK Leatherneck is also a great looking tartan. Is my envy showing?

I went through this exact same process, just last summer; and, I have to recommend buying a size down, unless you're handy enough to make alterations on it yourself.

Why? Because the sizing of SWKs are for the tightest hole: therefore, if you buy a size up, and lose any girth, you're going to be perenially nervous without a snug belt. I had to take mine in so that it now fits passably in the tightest hole (during the summer) and (hopefully) better in the 2nd hole through the winter.
