It's the ONLY place to stay in Dumfries, trust me.

And yes, there is an XMarks discount. I've been to three Burns Supper weekends there and we stayed for a week during a two week vacation in 2007.

You will find no better hosts than Robertson (Pour1Malt on XMarks) and Emma and Ferintosh is charming and directly across the street from the rail station.

    Book it!

Sounds perfect. I'm sure I wont have too much uni work to do over the weekend and I'm sure I can do an extra few hours a week in work to afford it.
I'll get in touch with Robertson. I never knew he owned a guesthouse - but he stood out to me on here cause he types in Scots!
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

Well, I am afraid I have decided, with some regret, to save myself (and my wee pension!) for a Ferintosh Burns Supper weekend instead, but I'll look forward to living it through the multitude of excellent images that are bound to be posted hereabouts.

    Take care,
    Ham.
