As previously stated, you could mail a Sgian in advance.

Technically, it's a bottle opener and should be safe in his carry on; but as stated, TSA can be very narrow minded. I agree with shipping ahead of time to wherever he will be staying.

I can attest that this piece is very uncomfortable as I wor it to work one day right out of the box. once I get a chance to sand down the side facing my leg I will try wearing it again till then its a no go for me.
