Tweed jacket "cut-off"?

Paul, that looks very nice.... I would wear that, myself... the over all look is great... LOL.. but you know that.

I agree I think this is a more modern cut of both waistcoat and jacket. I personally prefer a longer body to my vest and a slightly shorter cut to my jacket, as the space between the lower margins of each seems a bit incongrous to me. But then again I suffer from inordinate height combined with a long torso that I have to try to minimize the visual effects of.

It looks good and I like the overall outfit with the tie and hose. The only thing that might help would be a nice pocket watch chain hanging from a waistcoat button over to one pocket, to kind of break up the large dark center area of the vest and jacket. Otherwise I think you have nailed it. Well done.

and I'm also planning to wear a white handkerchief - as well as a thistle buttonhole (as it's for a wedding).

Looks sharp! Where did you get the hose? I have a Campbell kilt as well and those go well with it.

I think it looks grand. Possibly just the thing to get younger guys wearing the kilt again. Most of us probably didn't/don't want to dress like their dad's

I got my watch today and they forgot to send a chain and if they send it now it wont be here in time... so I'm running round trying to find an Albert chain in silver to go with the watch!
One place quoted me £580! I asked why it was so expensive... they said it was absolutely solid. I said "solid what?"
"SILVER!"
£580 = $1000... for something made of silver. No thanks!

I think I'll just get a silver plated one in the mean time for £10 or so.
