My new TCS Skunk sporran and OCL strap

The Stone Mountain Highland Games is a great place to be. This year, Saturday was cold and a little too wet; however, the spirits were high. Meeting new friends, and greeting old friends was augmented by my new skunk sporran from Turpin, and sporran strap from Cavscout.

This sporran can tote a load- flask, camera, extra batteries, reading glasses, business cards, pen, knife, money, chapstick, rubberbands and bandaids, with plenty of room left over for...well, lets' just say somebody else would have to dial 911. Notice the hand position- hard to get the cowboy to relax.

Looks very nice. I'm a big fan of skunk sporrans. I really like it against that tartan.

Looks great, Tyger. Is that buckle one of your originals? It's a beauty. Lot's of great craftsmanship on display... makes my trigger finger itchy... hmm, Christmas is just around the corner, better get working on my letter to Santa.

Yes, it is my Salmon of Knowledge buckle. In this buckle I have bezel-set a piece of torched (molten) glass. The kilt pin matches. I have some stones from Scotland (marble, jasper, epidote, agate) that can be used instead of glass, but I liked the blue glass with the blue in the tartan.

The Scottish Tartans Museum Gift Shop has some buckles on display in Franklin, so check them out- and all their other handmade things- if you ramble up that way.

I do believe, thanks to sporrans, that skunks may someday be extinct! I'll take mine with a full mask!
