I'll add that there is no fee for a clan to set up a table at the Glengarry Highland Games . Just register through the website and bring a table.

As well as the above mentioned for the SouthEast, I would add Charleston. It seems like a lot of people pass through those games even though it's considered a "smaller" event. I've often wondered about my perception of attendance at games when I spend most of my time at the tent. Sometimes I'll comment that it didn't look well attended and someone will say, "Well, the parking lot is full!"

An added plus is that the Glengarry Games are always a Friday / Saturday and the Montreal games (though much smaller) are always on the Sunday.

Montreal is less than an hour and a half from Maxville.

    Wink

    Northeast - USA

The largest Games - N.H. Highland Games - Lincoln, NH - this year I believe there were more than 60 Clans and other Scottish groups in attendance.

Other games in the Northeast average between 20 and 40 or so Clan Tents.

Hope this is of some help.

The Texas Scottish Festival in Arlington (TSF) held the first weekend in June is the largest games/fest in Texas. TSF has about 75 clans. The Houston Highland Games has about 30 clans and Salado, the oldest games in TX, has about 40, I think. All three are worth setting up a clan tent.

In Missouri the largest this year were Missouri Tartan Day in St Charles, and the Kansas City Highland Games. You will get a tremendous amount of exposure at either. There are others which are also great venues, but smaller.

Thank you all. Lots of great ideas, a few of which I had already thought of. I'll put the list together from this and pass it on to the Clan Commissioner. Look forward to seeing a MacLea/Livingston(e) tent at some of these games next year!

In New England the largest is the New Hampshire Highland Games at Loon Mountain in Lincoln, NH. During the opening ceremonies the bleachers had over 30,000 spectators. We had 64 clans at the 2009 event. The link in my sig line will bring you to the web site, and the procedure for a clan to register.

There are also the Longmeadow Games in Massachusetts, The Scottish Festival in Rhode Island, The Maine Highland Games. I do not have the stats on them, but each has a good following.

See you Septembre 17, 18, 19th, 2010 on Loon Mountain
