Great pictures, we have some really good salmon fishing here in Oregon as well. I will try to get some pics of our hot spots and post them.

Please, don't go to all that trouble with the pictures, just give me some numbers and I'll take it from there.

    Wish list:
1-Fish the John Day for smallmouths some summer.
2-Fish salmon in Scotland, and Iceland
    3-Fish northern pike in Scotland

Doesn't have to be in that order.

Great photos but even better to see that you were able to get out to take them. Thanks for these.

What a glorious way to spend a day, knee deep in a salmon stream. Thanks for sharing the photos with us.

It's been far too long since I've been salmon fishing. When my family lived in Oregon, my dad and I would get with some family friends and take the drift boat down the rivers spending the day casting and drifting along enjoying the day.

Yes, Jock, it is great to see that you were at least able to be there while the fishing was going on even if you were't able to fish yourself. Seeing these pictures sets be to wondering. Are you able to fish from a boat? I know it's not the same but it could give you the ability to be very close to one of the things you really enjoy.

Thanks Greg and every one else. Sadly I lost most of the use of my right arm and whilst I am left handed I need the right one to work the fly and the reel should I need it! But, I am delighted to say, that with a lot of work still to do, I think I may be able to wet a line next year and yes a boat is a good idea. I am really begining to think that I might! Still, I do enjoy watching others fish and the new camera does help no end. It is not the same though!!!!!

Ahhhhhh, that explains a lot. Well, you do have this winter to work on getting that pesky arm back into better shape. Of course, you could always put a float on the end of the line and just lean back in the boat and enjoy the day. You don't really need to catch anything to have fun. Like the old saying goes "The worst day fishing is 100 times better than the best day at work"

I'm no fisherman, but these pics almost make me want to take it up.

Let's all go to Jock's house next Saturday and learn to fly fish. How about it?
