But back to the clerical collar a moment. Several years ago, a friend of mine (whose sister is married to a priest) acquired a clergyman's shirt from his brother in law. He was in college at the time and would wear it to parties- not all parties, mind you, but probably in the spirit of people wearing kilts to Kilt Night at the pub. What happened when I watched one time was a guy ( not at all a religious guy, but a slightly intoxicated guy ) being completely taken in, acting very solicitous, and then getting pretty ticked when he learned it was "just a shirt".

I don't know, but I smell a "teachable moment" here and maybe the lesson is to assume little and say less.
