I feel like a cross between Stella Moon and Duncan...trying to keep a firm grasp of things, but feeling just this side of clueless.

Archie
Though I would prefer to be a Killwillie as he seemed on the whole to have a happier and less responsibility filled existence.

I am afraid I could never identify with any of the characters, but perhaps that is because I am actually Scottish - unlike a great many of the cast and the improbable "Brigadoon"-style nature of the programme. Richard Briers is one of my favourite actors but, sadly, this part did him no favours whatsoever.

If you don't like the program, that's fine; to each his own, but maybe this wasn't a thread for you then. We do realize it's a fictional program, and the original question in this thread was whimsical by nature, and those of us who have responded have done so in that same spirit.

The question was which character I could identify with which I have answered quite honestly. I am sorry that you feel that you should try to make an issue of it.

I didn't mean to make an issue of it. I thought perhaps you misunderstood the nature of the question since you felt the need to point out that the show is Brigadoon in nature. I, being a great fan of the musical Brigadoon would see this as a great compliment to Monarch of the Glen; however, some may misconstrue your comment as an insult to a show many of us have enjoyed over the years.
You have every right to post how you feel about the show, but those of us who like the show are having a good time thinking of the characters; rather harmless really.
