And my golly, WHAT A CD COLLECTION you have there.

So let us know if there's a rebroadcast available on the web?

    Regards,

I really felt comfortable and was at ease. I should have deeply regretted had I not been kilted. Only friendly or indifferent people around – like always.

I always dress up when going to a classical concert. After all, the fact that musicians and conductor or – like yesterday - the soloist are always formally dressed I think that it calls for something from the audience as well. Some people do look their best but quite a few don’t seem to bother.
Yesterday was something special, of course, because I could wear a kilt. Normally the kilt is casual wear to me but I liked being able to dress up a little bit by means of accessories.

    Be the first!
    Enjoy!

Just be sure to tuck your pleats under you when sitting down so they don't look trashed when you stand up.

    Hi Greg,

Sorry I'm so late to this thread or I'd have joined the multitude assuring you it would go well. My first public "affair" was a local presentation of Handel's Messiah and I lost count of the compliments on my kilt, especially from ladies. There is at least a part of the world that really is ready for the kilt.

Glad it went well and thanks for telling us about it.

If I looked like that in a kilt, I would wear one more often. I am reminded of someone's recent observation ( Jock Scot?) that the kilt is not worn everyday by many in Scotland, but that wearing it creates a sense of occasion, no matter what the occasion is. I concur with those above who want a concert to be something special. I suppose for some there are so many that they don't seem special any more, but that is not the life I lead.

    Hurrah for concerts
    Hurrah for kilts
Hurrah for a life filled with occasions.

Glad to hear that you donned the kilt after all. When thinking of kilting up for an event in the future, remember what a great time this was, and do it again!

Thank you, everyone for your advice and positive comments. Now, having done it, I don’t understand why I had my doubts. After all I have been wearing kilts almost everywhere, but it must have been the degree of intimacy connected with being that surrounded by people at a place from which you practically cannot escape.
I’m so glad you helped me in my decision and that I felt good, doing it.

    Greg
