I have joined and attempted to post a scathing commentary but it has not uploaded as yet. Will keep trying.

Blatant copyright infringement at its worst. This guy should be ashamed to post his face as his avatar.

I have had work stolen too. A "colleague" photographed one of my electronphotomicrographs and presented it in an oral presentation at a national meeting. I was there (fortunately), called her out, and she has not been heard of since.

So will it be for this creep. I am working on it.

Not to threadjack, but I don't get this comment on that page...

For reference, the kilts featured in this article are what most "in the know" call Casual kilts. Pipers often wear what is called the Full or Pipers' Kilt- which is often hand sewn, has three buckles (two interior and one exterior), and has from 7-9 yards of fabric depending on the gentleman's size

I was pretty sure the kilt was traditional, not casual... Who are these "in the know" people and what do they know that I don't?! ;)

If he is an artist, then he certainly knows copyright law, or at least should. Every student is taught how the law protects his or her own work.

Barb,
You should ask to find out how many viewings the article has had, this is the first step in accessing damages -- people are viewing your work online instead of buying your book. Both the author of the article and the website owners are liable for these potential damages.

And yet another thought -- you could offer the website a replacement article of your own which provides less specific information, but includes a link to purchase your book should the reader be interested in really making a kilt.
