Bigger pictures
I wonder if you can assist, I have been posting pictures ,more or less successfully, for sometime now. I have a photobucket account etc.. Now, what I would like to do is publish slightly bigger pictures(to give better detail) than I do here already. How do I go about it? Advice PLEASE in words of one syllable and no technojargon. Is there a box to tick at photobucket? Is there a box to tick here too? If so where is it? Do you mind if I publish slightly bigger pictures? Thank you in advance.
Jock.

Hi Jock, This is very simple. Just upload a larger photo to photo bucket. You may need to check the options to ensure that they are not resizing your photos to a smaller image.
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

I think I can do that. If you are using photo bucket, there is a big blue bar that says "UPLOAD PICTURES". Under that is a small blue selections called "More Options"
You want to click on that and it brings up a box that allows you to choose the size of the photo. If you need more help, please PM me and I will send along screen shots as well.

Got it! Thank you so much. I will try an experiment on an oldish thread of mine, just to test the system. If I don't like it I will revert back to the old system. Once again, many thanks.

Sorry, I knew it was not going to be that easy! I have clicked on photbucket for the pictures to go up two sizes and the pictures look the same size to me. Just added more pixels? Not inches. Any ideas?
A thought! Ok, maybe I cannot make the old pictures on file at photobucket any bigger(inches)? Is that a possibillity? But, maybe if I alter the setting on the camera, will that alter the future picture size on screen?YES?NO?Should do------I think!

If the pictures have already been re-sized in Photobucket, then chances are increasing the size will just increase the size of the individual pixels and you will get a worse picture. What you need to do is take the largest picture you can with your camera, then downsize it.
