Ramble away Jock, sometimes it's the only way to have a good conversation!

Nothing grand, very beaten up, but I get huge pleasure, unmeasurable actually, when I sit in my grouse butt, with the bag, knowing he was THERE, all those years ago, as was my father and they both enjoyed the same view as I see. Do I believe in ghosts ? Well no, but I can almost, almost, see their faces and hear their voices, I find it very comforting. I am rambling, sorry.

So, to all of you out there, look after those wee things that one day a great grand child will enjoy and yes they really will smile and under their breath they will say, not often perhaps, "thanks grandad!"
Well Jock, once again you've "rambled" your way right to the point... and summed it up perfectly.

I have my Grandfather's (steel) pocket watch and shotgun. If I'm so fortunate as to have children one day, these things will go to them.

I would hope that the badger sporrans I made might become heirlooms someday. Scooby is already nearly my girth and I expect him to surpass me in height before he finishes high school. Unless he should present me with grandchildren someday of considerably smaller size than he, my kilts will have to find another home.

I have something that some may think strange to pass along. My Dad's Zippo. It was with him everyday for a long time. I don't smoke, unless you count the rare cigar, but I carry it with me on outings and when I start a fire it feels like he is there with me. When I am done, it will go to my oldest, named James after my Dad. Something I have already passed to him is my old boy scout knife. I gave it to him when he crossed over from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts. That was when my Dad gave it to me. I plan on him passing it to his little brother when he crosses over in 2 more years. I plan on giving him my "deluxe" scout knife when he makes Eagle scout early next year.

    Well said, Jock.

Just because you are paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you.
