I just checked, my old boss has an Ancient MacDonald. He is going to check and see how it is pleated and let me know.

    The finished product

I received the kilt the day before the wedding. It's taken me a while to get back to this, but here's a picture from the day and one while drumming at our highland games of my new MacDonald Ancient pleated to the sett. Thanks again to all who gave pleating advice. I'm very happy with it. Barb, glad to see someone from outside who recognizes the Chugach! Have you been here or just familiar with it by name?

Beautiful kilt. By the brightness of the colorway I should like to guess it is from House of Edgar Nevis tartan, as I have the same and it is the most vivid colorset I have seen in that tartan. Enjoy.

I ordered the fabric through Tartan Town in Canada. The site they had you choose your tartan from was Lochcarron, so I would assume it came from that mill. I am very happy with the colorset and how well it goes with my sporran.

Interesting. Both Lochcarron's and Scotweb's websites show a fairly muted colorway for the Lochcarron 16oz in Ancient MacDonald, while Scotweb describes the colors as:

"their ancient shades in this fabric range are typically pale and subdued"

Still leads me to believe it is likely HoE Nevis, but I could easily be wrong.

Here is a pic of my HoE Nevis Anc MacD at the bottom under the shirt (ignore the tie---it is Ingles-Buchan):

Unfortunately, I've never been there, but the Chugach Terrane is pretty famous in geological circles.

    Beautifull wedding picture!
