I'd echo what has been said by others. You have nailed it. If you want nit picking then as already mentioned:
Sort your laces out - I like the bow on the outside shows a bit of style.
I would wear the pin lower but....
Leave the sporran where it is. It should be protecting the family assets not covering your belly button.
The bottom button of your waistcoat is said to be related to King Edward being too fat to do his up and everyone else following suit so as not to be rude - but there are other versions see;
Some Scots will deliberately do up their bottom buttons as they feel that leaving it undone is an English affectation and they wish to be rude to the (dead) King. I would not agree with this but...
The 'Eathen in his idleness bows down to wood and stone,
'E don't obey no orders unless they is his own,
He keeps his side arms awful,
And he leaves them all about,
Until up comes the Regiment and kicks the 'Eathen out.
Leave the sporran where it is. It should be protecting the family assets not covering your belly button.
It's odd how modern Highland Dress makers, when they dress up models for photos for their catalogues, usually place the sporrans very high. Going back to the 18th century to today it's normal to wear them a bit lower, placed as you so eloquently describe.
I think you look wonderful! I love your tartan- very lovely. And I like your sporran as well, it's different than others I've seen. And your socks and flashes make a lovely contrast! Excellent!
I appreciate all the compliments and the sage advice. Having said that, I feel that the thread has served its purpose and would request that the moderators close it.
Thank you all!
