The Dublin House in Red Bank is awesome. They even simulcast hurling from Ireland on Sunday mornings! I'd be willing to bet they'd welcome a kilt night too.

I don't know exactly what your definition of "good pub" is, but being a beer snob, I generally know where to go to find a really good brew...

Right on Rt 17 (Ridge Rd) in North Arlington, you'll find The Copper Mine pub- about 23 taps, all micro-brew. No food, but you can order delivery from any of a number of places.

In Haledon, right by William Paterson University, is The Shepherd & The Knucklehead. Pretty much same description as the Copper Mine. Both places are small & friendly.

If you head out to Bloomfield Ave in Caldwell, go to The Cloverleaf Tavern- great beer selection and a full menu, including some 'pub favorites' like cottage pie, fish & chips, etc.

Flemington. But not heading back for tgiving this year... I had hoped I could swing it. I will be there for Christmas though. Where in Hunterdon are you?
