Attacked by a tree
On my way to work this morning, I was attacked by a tree. It has been raining for several days and the wind has gusted to about 50 MPH at times. Ground gets soft when saturated and trees fall down. I was blasting up the road at about 50 when I rounded a turn and there in front of me......A tree across the road. I tried to brake and swerve but something hit the truck. Must have been a large branch. I stopped to check the truck and my pants. I noticed the windshield was broken. I drove on to work where I could check the truck in the light. The door is bent, the windshield gasket is torn out and the pillar around the glass is bent. What a day. Went back to see the tree. Someone had already cut it up and removed it. I wanted to set the tree on fire. The only thing I hurt was my pride. A 13 year old truck with low mileage. I hope the insurance company know how much that little truck means to me. Time will tell.

Ouch, but glad that you're okay, Frank. At least you didn't get hit by a golf club too.

Vicious things, trees.Better, by far, that your truck was bent, rather than you!

A neighbor, down the street, lost his fence to a giant cactus last year. The cactus was aiming for his truck, but didn't quite get there.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Glad you made it through unscathed and hope the insurance company will come through and make your truck whole again. Best of luck with that!

Glad to hear you came through that without a dent, so to speak.

I went looking for a golf club to stick in the hole, but got to the body shop too quickly. That would have humored my wife.

No, they won't...
According to our appraisal Mr. McGrath, you owe us money to consider even looking at your truck, much less us owing you for damages...
Since we are totaling the truck here is our check for a pittance, be glad we are just like good neighbors....
Yes Mr. McGrath we understand that your policy calls for a replacement value, but we feel that a three year old Power Wheels Barbie edition is an adequate replacement under the circumstances...
Yes Mr. McGrath we feel that you had undue influence over said tree, and that due to your close proximity to said tree should have known that said tree could have damage your vehicle at anytime, there fore our legal department is advising us that blah, blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah ......
Good Luck!
