Hose tops - photos anyone?

I've never really considered hose tops before, but having been walking in wetter weather lately, I'm wodering whether these are a good idea...

Has anyone got any pictures of them being worn - both in association with army boots and with brogues?

Not quite sure that I am understanding you. Do you mean hose tops or gaiters? I just can't see how hose tops will stop anything getting wet, whereas that is what gaiters are for.
