    Thanks for all the advice! Yep--vest tabs and buttons will be changing. I feel VERY fortunate to have been in the right place (Xmarks) at the right time and for once--the right SIZE!

    Your pics have just given me an idea, a black vest does look good with a charcoal tweed. maybe a black shirt might look equally as good? Now where to find a cheap vest......

    It looks very nice indeed. Captmac makes the buttons, and some to match the jacket can be easily obtained. Better yet, mark where you want the waistcoat to be shortened to, send it to me, and I'll fix it and replace the buttons. How's that?

    Captmac wore a black short with a blue Harris Tweed waistcoat and his MacKenzie kilt this weekend and the effect was very nice, indeed. I'd post a photo, but I'm at work and the pics are on my home computer. Oops.
