Just noticed this posting... wow, maybe my first outing in my new kilt!
But I don't have a formal jacket or ghillies, because I'd always assumed I'd be casual when kilted. I might have a waistcoat if it gets here by then.
I'll be nervous enough to go out in "public" (i.e., not highland games or something I've already been to in the past). I'd hate to look foolish!

Wear a dress shirt with tie and dress shoes (not ghillie brogues)...you'll be fine.
