I'm saying that you/one shouldn't worry about it, which isn't quite the same thing. I will often ask those close to me what they think of certain outfits (if they haven't already offered an opinion); many on this forum ask and offer opinions on any/every aspect of kilt outfits. That's a good thing. Knowing what a few folks think - especially folks that matter to you, whether because you love them or because you trust their opinions on the proper height of kilt hose - can allow you to go out with confidence. And confidence matters. It has a tendency to inspire emulation, rather than mockery.
But I would rather be a happy misfit than a miserable conformist. And so I am.

Or to put it another way: your opinion of me is none of my business.

Welcome from Eastern Washington State. My philosophy is that we men, like women, should be able to wear or not wear a kilt without any other issues.

Well put!
It does remind me of when, many years ago, my sister moved to a rural farming region of Arizona and noticed that all of the women and girls in the area wore skirts or dresses. She caused quite a stir by wearing blue jeans. She was taken aside and informed that females in pants was not acceptable. She informed them that she would dress as she pleased.
