"Abandoned" is right! I stumbled across Poltalloch House by accident on my visit to Kilmartin in 2003. It was a dark afternoon and I saw the mansion on my way to explore a large cyst in the woods. The House was intact except for the complete lack of a roof on the house. The garage, though, still contained several old cars. I didn't know it was all about until I asked the B&B owners. BTW, "The MacDonalds" were led by Colkitto who had MacIntyres among his pipers.
