Short review of a Stewart Royal

I ordered a kilt in Stewart Royal from Carol Fitzherbert, on the recommendation from "English Bloke". The result was a £260 kilt in strome Lochcarron. Even though I have a difficult sizing, the result was very good!

From the picture you can see that the set is slightley different at the top. That is just because my waist, so I take that positive. (the colours are a bit dull, but that's how it goes when I take the picture with timer)

A closeup shows that the fabric is good, and the tailoring is perfect. Even the diagonal stripes in the tartan-stripes matches.

So if anyone wants a fairly cheap kilt, I can recommend Carol Fitzherbert as a good kiltmaker who gives the kilt a special feeling.

Congratulations on the new kilt! I can't see the picture, though.

    I can now - beautiful!

    Congratulations on your new kilt!
To me the colours aren't dull, at all. The tartan definitely looks like Stewart Royal.
Should they be it cannot possibly have anything to do with the self timer. Could be the light meter, however, when your eye is away from the finder ocular. Try to cover it with some black paper and see if that helps.

Congratulations, Bear, it is a very beautiful kilt. Do you have a front view available?

I would just say, though, that I don't consider 260 pounds a cheap kilt.

    So treasure it.

I will take a picture to put in tomorrow. IN the meantime there is another picture at http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/k...594/index.html

I think £260 is cheap for the quality you get. At least compared to other kilts that are hand made with Lochharron wool. They tend to go way over £300.

And I will treasure it! This kilt will stay with for all my life (supposed I don't gain more than 2" around my waist).

Maybe relatively inexpensive (an assessment of cost), but not cheap (an assessment of value usually reserved for poor value at a low price).

    Beautiful kilt, and relatively inexpensive.

Bit late to this party sorry. £260 delivered to Norway from UK is reletavely inexpensive compared to the prices asked by some kilt suppliers for an equivalent product. I'll second Snowbear's comments. These kilts are superb. I know this, I've got one.
