Yea dropkick concerts are fun. Wear a kilt you wouldn't mind moshing in. The times I've seen them I came out of the place reeking of beer weed and body odor. I'm surprised they're goin to Glasgow. Do they have a lot of fans there?

Must have some fans here because the venue is massive, standing only. Like when you saw them, you come out stinking of beer as it seems to be the custom to toss the plastic containers of beer up into the air. I have never seen them but may well go along this time

DKM is very popular in the U.K. All the venues for their tour last year sold out quickly. The tickets were available longer in the U.K. then here in the U.S., where they only last about an hour before they are sold out, and that is for six concerts in a huge venue. The DKM T-Shirts and other merch are very Celtic oriented, as their Genre is Celtic Punk. The range of music is from early Celtic to a very modern Punk with a Celtic twist.
If you can listen to the music before going to the concert you will be better prepared as the band often lets the fans provide the lyrics while they provide the instrumentals for short sections. DKM concerts tend to be very interactive.

Scruffy is the piper for the band and will be wearing a kilt made by Rocky at USA Kilts.

I'm looking to see if i have enough scratch to pick up a ticket to the show on the 16th in Boston. For those who are going on that day any plans on meeting up somewhere either before or maybe hitting a pub after for a pint? I'd love the chance to meet up with a few of the rabble.

When in Boston, the Dropkick Murphys and their fans meet at McGreevey's on Boylston Street, near the Hynes Auditorium for a pint, food and good fun before the concert. (Great Shepherd's Pie, BTW) We also tend to meet again after the concert at the same pub. McGreevey's is owned by Ken Casey and Scruffy Wallace as primary owners with the rest of the band as minor investors. I always find one or the other there when they are in town.

I will be attending the concert on the 16th and look forward to meeting any rabble at the pub. It is a Tuesday, and my day off from work.

I wonder what itll be like when they come to Glasgow... whether itll be full of black t-shirt or Celtic shirts!
Are they good enough for you to want to see them live?!

Yes Steve... I'm hoping to. I need to convince someone to come with me first though!
If you want Paul, I can phone up for tickets using my credit card, its a Monday night which suits me.
So if you think it will be a good night lets try it, there are good recommendations from some of the guys on the forum and its an excuse to wear the kilt at the Barras although I dont fancy going in to Bairds Bar kilted unless wearing a 'tic top

Sure, Jimmy. I was going to book online - but there's fees! Monday suits me too as I'm off uni on the tuesday.
I'll likely see you before the gig to sort out money and I'll buy you a pint when you're there ; two infact as I owe you one from the Worlds as well!

As far as the kilt goes - I've seen someone wearing one around the barras the last few times I've went down for the bus! Mainly older gents and the last time the guy was wearing a lovely Black Watch horehair sporran.
I'll probably wear my Boston Celtics t-shirt, anyway!
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.
