    Scottish Heritage kilt

I have a question which might sound a bit corny. Is it proper for an Irishman to wear the Scottish Heritage tartan??? I already have my Irish National, and one is being made in my Irish clan . But, I like the Scottish Heritage. Since my wife is Scot-Irish, I think that would justify wearing a great looking tartan. Advice, anyone?

I am still a relative newbie, but I can say that when my wife and I were in Scotland last year, I was interested in getting an "appropriate" kilt, one from my family or at least clan. Most Scots I met said, "why? wear something you like, wear something that looks good".
They didn't seem to attach the importance we do to the tartans. I say wear whatever you like, that you feel you can explain to someone who asks. I have worn the Scottish National as well as my own, and never feel like I am inappropriately attired.

I think that is one of those tartans that absolutely anybody can wear. If you really like that particular tartan, then I would go for it! I have a kilt in that tartan, and I really like it. Wear what you like, that's what I say!

Unless it's restricted, wear whatever tartan you like. Be ready to discuss it and give reasons why you're wearing it, if someone asks, which they probably will. And make sure you post pics for all of us to "Ooohh and aaahh" over.

    Go ahead and wear it.
