    Camo for Kilts

OK, this is very strange. I hate wearing camo, so much that when I was on the SWAT team we used to get free woodland BDUs from the DRMO and I got us budgeted to get OD BDUs instead.

In a trade I just got a US 3 color desert custom and have British Desert DPM enroute from a mate in the SAS to have Needle Pimp make me a custom.

Also have buddies in Russia, Germany, and South Africa seeing what patterns they can dig up.

Now on the look out for 1953 French Lizard Camo the precursor to the Tiger Stripes worn by US advisers early in Vietnam. Another grail is the US Night Desert issued for the Gulf War.

If you have a kewl camo kilt can you post a pic, and if you have any other sources for Foreign military camo can ya post them? Thanks- George

How far back do you want to go in search of camouflage patterns? I only ask because after leaving the army I dipped my toes into the world of re-enacting for a few years. One of my purchases which I loved and still occasionally wear (without any insignia on it) is this:

It is the Autumn Oakleaf camo pattern, developed by the SS during the latter stages of the war. I'd love to have a casual kilt made with this!!

I portrayed British Infantry before 'defecting' to the German Paratroops (Luftwaffe Fallschirmjager). Their camo was this:

    known as 'Splinter B'.

I bought one of these Desert Watch kilts- I think it is Acrylic, but it is not too bad, esp for the money and the oddity value:

Funny that you ask this- I got a camo kilt with a matching waistcoat and flashes made by Flamingo Kilts for Christmas! I haven't gotten pictures yet- I'm wearing it to the inlaws house this afternoon for dinner. I'll get pictures this afternoon and post them this evening.

This is the first kilt that my mother-in-law made for me.
It is a no name pattern found at the fabric store bargain bin.
I am still proud to have it! My youngest has one that matches.
