Hogmanay!
In an earlier thread, where someone asked what folks' Hogmanay plans were, I bemoaned the fact that I would likely be watching Ryan Seacrest and some pop music groups from my recliner while my wife snoozed on the couch.
I'm glad to report that, since that time, we have been invited not only to a New Year's Eve party, but a Hogmanay celebration. The hostess runs a small Scottish Country Dance group and promises demonstrations. She's also encouraging guests to entertain in some way, with a song, a tune or a story. I'm planning to bring a big batch of Scotch eggs and read "Tam 'o Shanter." Haggis will be served and, if no one is planning to address it, I'll offer to do that, too!
I'm really looking forward to this.

I'm going to be in a mosh pit, listening to Gaelic Storm for New Year's Eve. Would that count as a Hogmany?

Just because you are paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you.

Can't find an appropriate venue, may take the dogs over to the mountains and chase grouse for 2 days. I suspect they, the dogs that is, will help me with a few snacks and a toast

Make sure to take lots of fotografias so we can all join in the fun!
I plan to have a bonfire in my garden patch. Maybe the neighbors will come over and join me.

Well that sort of sounds like the Edinburgh Hogmanay celebrations so I say go for it. Just don't injure yourself getting moshed.
