    Anyone offering jacket conversion services?

My wife and I spent the day yesterday visiting all the thrift shop and Goodwill stores in the area. I picked up two fairly nice tweed sport coats that fit me decently ($9 a piece!). I want to convert them to kilt jackets. But alas, I do not sew and know better than to even try. My wife could probably do it, but she is much too busy with leather work to do it.

I'm willing to ship these jackets to someone with whatever measurements they need from me, and pay them to do the conversion and ship them back. Is there anyone who offers such a service?

I'd probably like one of the jackets to just be shortened and reshaped at the bottom for wearing with my kilt. The other one, I'd like the same thing but also perhaps the cuffs and epaulets.

You've come to the right place. VMac3205 does them, and very well. Her rates are reasonable, and she knows what she's doing. She has even made doublets out of jackets.

Gotta echo the recommendation for VMac3205. Excellent work!
