Ok guys, I'm in for 10%! That should be 24 to 25 pounds.
I lost about 15 when I quit drinking, then the sweet tooth (sugar craving) kicked in. So I'll try cutting out the refined sugars (bye-bye snickers), adding more veg and smaller but more frequent repasts. Up the H2O intake as well.
Coincidently, I was planning to up the yoga and add some more length to the dog walking, any way, so this gives me a reason to "make it so". ith:

I’ve been watching the thread and wanted to get through the feasting before joining in. I’m going for my optimal weight which means losing 21 pounds (just 2 pounds beyond the 10%) and 4" off the waist. Need to get back in the exercise routine and end my affair with CASS. No, it’s an acronym for chocolate, alcohol and salty snacks! I’ll be following Dr. Joel Fuhrman’s recommendations in his books Eat to Live and Eat for Health. His dietary advice emphasizes mainly eating vegetables and fruit, and avoidance of processed foods, meat and dairy.

Ern,
You've hit the nail on the head. Dr. Fuhrman gives good advice, and I wish you well with it.

I need to lose some pounds, but not necessarily my waist... I JUST got my first kilt in the size I am now! lol I know it's "just" a USAK casual (which I in no way mean as a slander to the craftsmenship, but rather the economical price), but for a poor, out-of-work videographer like myself, it's all we could afford... So essentially I'm saying, "Count me in" because I NEED to lose it, not because I need the kilt to fit better... I'm currently floating around 215 and I should be around 185-190 so I guess that means 25-30 lbs as my goal... Let the fast food fast begin!

Thanks - I hope to feel that my shorter kilts are once again appropriate - I have both 24 inch and 27 inch, the latter being more flattering to a wider silhouette - well - it is only when I stand sideways to the mirror that I really flinch, or sigh.
Another reason the waistline is of such important is that I have a bag full of leather belts which are too small by a couple of inches, or more. They represent a considerable investment and so are a great incentive to shrink back into them.
I hope that we can provide encouragement and help eachother to achieve whatever our challenges are.

10.2 lbs as a team in the first week!
Our team has reported 10.2 lbs lost this week and that was during THE holidays for overindulgence. I am sure there are more who didn't update in our social group, but what a great job by the team!

I am also in, but as from tomorrow since I am attending a New Year's Eve party today.
I'm currently 80 kg and the target is 70kg for a loss of 10kg, 12.5% or 22lbs.
I need to get down to 75kg for mid-February for a very posh do in London and the kilt I am making for that occasion is being made 2" smaller than my current waist line. Should be an interesting challenge.
Good luck to all the other participants in the challenge.

Updates on Weight Loss
After all the holiday ups and downs, the posted weight losses and gains for our group is -37.5 lbs. Great job everybody! I am sure there are a few who are still up, and a few who are still down that aren't posting, but the point is to help the kilt fit better, not lose significantly.
But I think we will take -37.5 lbs in just about three weeks.
