    You could use scarlet red hose. If that's too bold for your taste, I think Redshank's suggestion is spot on.

    The hose that Redshank suggested are perfect, but the other suggestions were good, too. I liked the idea of picking a minor color from the tartan for the hose and using a prominent color from the tartan for flashes. In the end, what you're wearing above the kilt will also need to be considered when choosing hose.

    Thanks everyone! The pair Redshank posted are pretty spot on. I already have black. I might also try navy, and green.

    I'm awfully proud of my new Shaw Kilt! Its in honor of my great grandfather Augustus Shaw. He was a warden in Indianapolis by way of Scotland. I'm also named for him (middle name), and my great great uncle John Augustus Maxwell.
