How old were you when you first wore a kilt?
I tried on my cousin's kilt sometime in my late teens and was hooked. I then didn't wear one again until I was 40 years old when I bought my one and only kilt.
How about you?

I wore one for my first Holy Communion when I was 8!
It then took me another 8 years to wear another to my prom when I was 16.
Now I'm 19 and I own several
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

18... and it was a homemade one my grandmother and I came up with from looking at photos, as we had never seen one in person. I wish I had a photo of that thing! I have no idea where it ended up.

I was told by those that knew, long gone now, that I was about 4 when I first wore the kilt.

You may well be the winner of the 'Earliest sighting in a kilt' competition, though we're bound to have some cad say he was BORN wearing one!
I wonder who started wearing the kilt at the most advanced age?

I was 53 when in Scotland the first time; I bought my first kilt then, a Royal Stewart of course. (In the huge kilt shop in Edinburgh, full of the most beautiful tartans, the shop owner said te me: "that's what I have for you, the other tartans aren't appropiate).

I was about 55. I was invited to a Robbie Burns dinner, and decided to rent a kilt. It changed my life. I found freedom! and floor mounted heating ducts.
No turning back after that eh?

Just last year when I turned 30 I asked my family for a kilt. I plan on buying myself my 3rd for this upcoming birthday in February.

I bought and wore my first kilt 20 years ago when I was just a lad of 33. I now have four little kilts and two great kilts.
