Dropkick Murphys on the NHL Winter Classic

If you're at home now, turn on NBC. Dropkick Murphys are going to open the Winter Classic with 'shipping up to boston' with Scruffy proudly wearing a kilt.

I caught the last half of the song, didn't see the kilt, but they were bundled up tight... Good show though.... the whole stadium was singing along.

Yeah, all I saw on my NBC station was about 45 seconds of the song. Maybe there'll be a clip online of the whole thing at some point.

The coverage of the song (and the fife and drum corps) was disappointing... oh well

Great game, tho!

The DMs do a lot with the Bruins.... I think last season -- or perhaps the season prior -- they used to play at the Garden after every B's home game.

Are you kidding? It was a HORRIBLE game (but ONLy b/c the flyers lost). I had a bet going with Scruffy... $1 and the loser has to wear the winning team's jersey at the next DKM Philly area show. Looks like I'll be wearing the Bruins jersey and handing over my $1.

All in good fun though...

It's alright b/c the Bruins are my 3rd favorite team...

The UW Badgers have their own Winter Classic this year at the football stadium. Which reminds me--I'd better buy my tickets now!

You can barely make out Scruffy Wallace's kilt. Looks like they're doing their best to stay warm. It's a spirited performance with awful sound, which is, of course, what Dropkick Murphys are all about.
