Passing of a great friend and Son of Scotland

I learned early this morning that David R Ross passed away early this morning at his home just outside Glasgow. He was a great friend, historian and author. He will be missed by many.

I am devasted! David attended a many Highland Game here in Virgiinia and NC. He would introduce Albanach/Clann an Drumma when they both were present. The good do die young.

Here's the link to his website.
This is the notation at Wikipedia. "Jan 2, 2010 David Robertson Ross passed away at his home in East Kilbride."

David will be greatly missed. One of those personalities that always stood out in a crowd.

You can post to a special memorial page on Albannach's web site. http://www.albannachmusic.com/davidrrossmemorial/

I am very sorry to hear this. I enjoyed his stories every year at Grandfather Mt. I will miss him next year.

Celtic Cowboy called me last night with the news... I must say I was expecting to see him speak in 2 weeks at the Highland games in Winter Springs, FL. Now his spirit is with the patriots who came before him.

Albannach's performances won't be quite the same without David's stirring presentation and intro before they go on stage.

I am very shocked at this news. I have met his lovely wife on a few occasions. I send my condolences to his family.
