I spent a great year in the Sinai and toured many of the areas you are at now. Mount Sinai was a great hike and wonderful place to sleep under the stars.

It never ceases to surprise me (and others, too, I suppose) how widespread and varied we are. Thanks for posting these shots, Barb, and I hope your work in Egypt yields great new discoveries. If you discover a new kind of rock, are you going to name it Rabbleonium or Dandelionite?

Now wouldn't that be a treat? I'm at Aswan much later this month and will, no doubt, have on board the Maple Leaf you just made for me, Barb. Sadly, it sounds like you will have left by the time I arrive. (Great photos -- especially the one of you crossing the Great Western Dessert on foot )
