12th Annual Olde Towne Scottish Walk, Downtown Portsmouth, VA
I’m planning on attending. Anyone else up for it?
Thursday December 31st
CELEBRATE “HOGMANAY” A parade in which everyone participates. Taste Single Malt Scotch. Hear tales of colonial history.
HONOR Our Nautical and Military History. Thank our merchants for service in the Holiday Season, and Wish all good luck For Auld Lang Syne.
11:00 AM Kirking of the Tartans Monumental United Methodist Church. Line up at 10:45 to process.
3:30 PM Gathering Corner of Queen and Washington Streets.
4:30 PM Step off Behind the St. Paul’s Catholic and Monumental United Methodist Churches.
5:30 PM Pipe Music Barons Pub, Bier Garten
All events Free!! Parking Free!!
All are welcome to participate in the walk!!!
Handicapped are invited to ride in LandRovers (first come, first serve).
Special participants this year are: the Boy and Girl Scouts of America, ancient weaponry, story tellers, re-enactors, LandRovers, church groups, Whiskey Tasting Society “Uiseage beath”, Carriage Rides, Newport News Police Pipes, Drums, and Dancers Corps, and Tidewater Pipes and Drums.

As I won't make it home to Scotland this Hogmanay, , I will almost certainly be there.

Bump!
Just thought I'd give this a bump as the event is two days away. For those who don't know Portsmouth Olde Towne, the High Street where the walk takes place is a pedestrian-friendly area with numerous pubs and restaurants and is well worth a visit.
