    Talisker 18 - Where's It??

No shop in Houston or Austin can I find a bottle of Talisker 18. What's happened? Are there shortages throughout the States?....North America??.....Scotland??....the World? Is there such a short supply that next year the price will skyrocket to tripple digits like Macallan 18 did a few years ago??

Good scotch is always in short supply on the shelves right after the holidays... I always find it prudent to order what I want from the manager if it isn't on the shelf. Anyway, by the end of the month, barring some catastrophic event, T-18 should be back on the shelves.

    I just checked this lot:

    http://www.binnys.com/spirits/search...stxt=taliskers

...and if they don't have it, you really won't be able to find it.

Could always ask at their retail store...which is only one block away from The Duke Of Perth...where I am often to be found on Saturday afternoons...as is most of the staff of Binny's, for that matter...

Good point about the holidays, but I tried looking and put in an order as early as Halloween, and there has been nothing. Luckily, I still have a bottle at home as I was only shopping for an Xmas gift. The consolation gift was the Dalmore Gran Reserve.

Well you can travel up to DFW area and check out my favorite. Goody Goody shows inventory of 12, 18 and 25 year in stock. But if you travel up today, watch out for the black ice. Roads are terrible today.

It is an allocated product. So when the years allocation is spent you have to wait for the next. I have been waiting for it for a few months now and I just got a bottle yesterday. keep looking.

Once again, the South must suffer to provide for the North.

Yes, but is this because demand is unexpectedly higher or 1991 was not a good production year for Talisker? I've been able to buy Talisker 18 in December before. So, something has changed.
