I was introduced to them by browsing around on youtube great sampling of the most popular songs. currently in rotation on the Ipod is Sing loud, sing proud, and live on st. patrick's day great energy on the live album. thats what really sold me on going to the concert.

I have planned on meeting with some friends kilted at McGreevey's around five or so for some pub grub and a stout or two with the members of the band that hang there before the show.

    Steve,
you couldn't arrange a meetup with them for me and Jimmy when they're in Glasgow, could you?!

I wonder what itll be like when they come to Glasgow... whether itll be full of black t-shirt or Celtic shirts!
Are they good enough for you to want to see them live?!

Yes Steve... I'm hoping to. I need to convince someone to come with me first though!
got the tickets thru the post today, so Paul should be a good night especially if Steve can do the business

    Great, I can't wait!
I'm seriously wondering what sorts of other people will be in the crowd. If there will be any kilts, Celtic tops, Boston Celtics t-shirts, tricolours... there are a load of possibilities with a band like this! It'll probably be a cross between a Wolftones and a Rancid concert - which will be interesting!

I like a bunch of DKM songs, but of their albums "The Meanest of Times" is my fave. I've had it in the regular rotation pretty much since it came out--and it still ROCKS my boat!

I doubt I'll ever see them live though. I've long given up being a spectator at big, crowded venues. I'd rather be playing.

Don't know about Rancid, bit I have seen the Wolfetones on many occassions over the years and they are hard core republican but great musicians although they have lost a lot with Derek Warfield leaving the group, boys and girls
So if they are anything like the 'Tones, you can expect all the nutters in the crowd but I would think they are a more sophisticated group in their manner of music

    Paul and Jimmy,
Ken & Scruffy are the principal owners of the pub, with the rest of the band holding a minor interest. Anyone who drops into McGreevey's is sure to meet one or more of the band members, and are likely to be served a stout by Ken or Scruffy(the primary landlords). The members of the band are real down to earth and like meeting their fans on a personal level whenever they can.
I do not know Glasgow or where the band will hang out while there. You could go to their website, and a short time before the concert post a question to them as to where and what - - you could get a reply to where to meet and greet.
