Not sure when it was bottled - prob 68 or 69.
Vintage port life expectancy depends on the year. About 5 years ago, I had some 55, which was truely amazing.

24 years will make my 90th birthday. I'll put a few bottles aside for that event, but most aren't going to last that long.

One should regard laying down some vintage port late in one's life as just like planting a tree, it is an act of faith. You most certainly will not enjoy it, your children may not and if they don't, your grand children will!
Thanks Dad and Grand Dad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't go the vintage route, but I do enjoy picking up a bottle of Sandeman's Founders Reserve Port every now and then.

We opened a bottle of 77 colheita port last night. First time that I've had a colheita and it was amazingly good.

I've just tried port for the first time. I needed some to cook with last week and there was a bit of the bottle left so we had a bit after dinner. I know next to nothing about port, so I thought the petite syrah port was quite good, though overly sweet. My girlfriend thoroughly enjoyed it. I picked up a bottle of tawny port this past week end (I can't recall the name) and had a glass last night. I need to find proper glass and get some recommendations on what a newbie should look for at the package store to ease into the beverage.

A vintage port is excellent. But for those that want to try a little variety without breaking the bank, might I suggest Deco? A blend of California and Austrailia ports with the added natural essence of dark chocolate. Goes well on the rocks, instead of dessert.
