I'm almost positive I've seen the Real McKenzies guys wear multiple punk looking belts with kilts, so i honestly don't think a bullet belt would be out of the question.

is this sort of the look/attitude you're going for?

I have done it. Traditional style kilt (plain black), with black shirt. Wore the bullet belt, such as you describe, with buckle at the front, looseish at the back, with small black day sporran in front. Look forward to seeing your pics.

    Good Luck

The M249 SAW fires a 5.56mm round. Which can make a decent belt, although I'm thinking that wear on the kilt itself would be nasty...

Back in my Navy days, I had managed to talk one of the gunner's mates into giving me 35 inches of linked 20mm spent casings. LOTS of people wanted it (ended up giving it to my girlfriend's sister)...

And, as usual, this thread is worthless without pics!

I think he was joking (notice the ). Sarcasm is tough to put across in text.

The Real McKenzies are a GREAT bunch of guys and a GREAT band to see live. Paul is very 'animated' and likes to act out the lyrics a bit. Very entertaining.
