That was hilarious! I usually watch the movie with my family, and we always make fun of how long his trek to mordor is. And it's funny because the eagle idea had occurred to me this last time I saw it when the eagles came to pick them up...

ALSO at the risk of sounding like a geek. The eagle idea never would have worked, for two reasons. The eagles were a neutral party who would not get involved in the war. Second, the ever vigilant eye of Sauron would have seen the eagles coming before they even reached the realms of his land. Surely the only way to destroy the ring was through secrecy, in a fashion the dark lord could never suspect!

Alright, alright! I acquiesce That actually makes me feel better about spending the time watching the movie. But really, my favorite parts are the wars at Gondor and Helms Deep and Isengard. Frodo is difficult to watch after a while

He's a talented actor, but his role in this movie was awful. Every time things would start to get ugly, he'd get that stupid tortured look on his face and go blank. After about the 48th time I saw that stupid look on his face, it started to get old.
