The "Original" UK model (meaning not a "Workman's" or a "Survival") I was referring to has no snaps at the belt line. You can't wear them without a belt.

Then yes that would be what I have, there is just 2 loops you put the belt through at the top to hold the waist line together.
on a side note I also have the original belt they sold, the one you had to put the buckle on AFTER looping it on the kilt....it is very annoying.....

You would think that with so many people searching for the older style they would start producing the "original" like that again.
