We're talking of a world long ago, when Triumph, BSA and Norton caff racers ruled the Queen's Highway ! Then the Mods arrived, on glorious chariots d'Italia and in 1964 the Mods and the Rockers had legendary fights on England's holiday beaches. Not even Hitler had managed to fight on England's beaches ! (Needless to say, Mods and Rockers had co-existed pretty peacefully till then, but Britain's wonderful tabloid press were looking for mischief and stiired up trouble during May 1964 Spring bank holiday seaside gatherings and big fights resulted in Hastings and Brighton and other places. Needless to say, afterward, Mods and Rockers actually adopted antagonism to each other and the descendants of both groups, Skinheads and Bikers/Angels, continued the fight into the '70's)

Nothing to do with opium - more about uppers and downers, Drynamil, Dexadryn, speed.

There are Mods and scooter boys in the USA nowadays, but they tend to be in the big cities like New York, LA and San Francisco.

I wear leather motorcycle jacket and levis, and usually covered in grease from working on cars.
