    Kilts in Irish tartans, anyone?

    Hi guys. I'm considering getting a kilt in an Irish tartan - probably a 5 yard, though heavyweight wool, for more casual wear. I love the Irish National and the St. Patrick's tartan, but I have connections with quite a few Irish counties as well.
    I've spent a wee while looking at websites with pictures of the tartans but...

    has anyone got pictures of kilts in ANY Irish tartan?

    Thanks!

    Paul, are you specifically looking for a general Irish tartan, or would you consider a family one, also?

    Many people would want to stay with a connection to a particular clan, but after being on this site, I see that many say you can pretty much wear whatever you like. So, I found one for me...MacDonagh. If you go to Scotweb, you can punch in the name and search for a color swatch.

    Hope this helps!!?? Den

    There are probably a few members here who have kilts in Irish tartans. I seem to recall someone posting pictures of a kilt in County Cavan (House of Edgar) and another person posting a pic of themselves in Antrim County Crest (Marton Mills.)

    On the Kilt Page of my website, the kilt pictured under the (5 yard) Knife-Pleated Standard section is the Sligo County Crest tartan (Marton Mills). It's 13 oz. however, as are all of the County Crest and Irish County tartans. Irish National is available in 16 oz. from House of Edgar while Ireland's National is available in 16 oz. from Marton Mills. As Rocky mentioned earlier, 'All Ireland Blue; is available in 16 oz. from D.C. Dalgliesh, as is All Ireland Green, Clodagh, Connacht, Blue Fitzgerald, Fitzpatrick, Lynch, Tara Murphy, O'Brien, O'Neill, Brown Ulster, and Red Ulster.

    My favorite tartan is the Ireland's National from Marton Mills, (not to be cofused with the 'Irish National' from House Edgar) here in a USA Kilts Semi-trad;

    Sorry, the pic is from our Dickens Victorian Fest.

    Or you could go for a non-tartan, in this case a SWK Saffron Heavyweight;
