Chicago's New Year
Due to the prompting of my better half, we had a somewhat last-minute New Year's Eve party. There was a lot of emergency food and beverage prep, and invitations out to about 1/2 the people I should have invited, but a successful party nonetheless. Thanks to an inquiry on facebook, beloitpiper made it down from WI. Here are pics of some of the madness:
Here is beloitpiper hanging out with a few friends of mine:
Here I am greeting some guests:
The food layout included prosciutto and cheese pinwheels, pork tenderloin sandwiches, bluberry mini muffins, make your own smores, etc. Here's a home made panorama:
At one point my girlfriend was asked to show her Christmas present to me. She made me a Dr. Who scarf:
After it got out that we are Dr. Who geeks, I had to show off My Girlfriend's remote control K-9:
No matter what you do, at a party people will always gravitate towards the kitchen:
Later we had karaoke. It's because we're classy:
Who needs a Wii when you have this game! Seriously, at one point or another each person at the party was obsessed with this game:
beloitpiper and I are moved by the soulful ballads of one of my drunken friends, so we join in:
It was a good night with fireworks, friends, and feasting. There may have been a bottle of absinthe floating around as well, but that doesn't begin with an "f". The morning after absinthe and champagne does, though.

Looks like a fun party. Our New Year's Eve was pretty quiet compared to your festivities.

Looks like a good party, considering the short notice.
